Dianne Curtis Dowd, beloved mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully in her home in Pleasant Grove, Utah on February 16, 2024. She was surrounded by family at her passing. She remained firm in her testimony of Jesus Christ and His restored Gospel until the end of her life.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother and her oldest son, Kenny. Her family was the source of some of her greatest joys, and she was never happier than when surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and other family members laughing, playing games, telling stories, and celebrating significant milestones.

Her life was marked by love, dedication, and service to her family and others. Born on May 17, 1942 in Portland, Oregon to Curtis Lawrence Tucker and Alean Waters, Dianne’s early years were spent in St. Louis, Missouri where in high school she starred in several dramatic productions and musicals and was popular with her classmates. She loved the arts, was an accomplished watercolorist and seamstress, and possessed a refined fashion sense that she carried throughout her life. Dianne attended Brigham Young University and was a lifelong learner. She served faithfully in many Church callings, including in the Stake Young Women’s Presidency, as a Relief Society Homemaking Leader, and as the long-serving chair of the Boy Scout Eagle Board of Review. She was also a frequent member of her wards’ Activities Committees – planning fabulous events like an old world-themed “Night in Bethlehem.” Later in life, she established a successful career as a real estate investment advisor. Her professionalism, integrity, and dedication earned her the respect and admiration of colleagues and clients alike.

Dianne had a firm testimony and love for the Gospel of Jesus Christ. She was a devoted disciple who faced significant trials with unwavering faith. Despite the inevitable challenges of life, she remained optimistic and cheerful. For Dianne, everything was “phenomenal,” and her wry wit showed through in some of the most trying circumstances. Her life reflected the quiet peace granted to all who seek to follow Jesus. To her posterity, she leaves a priceless legacy of testimony, faith, hope, and love.
