Larry Russell Williams left our arms and returned to the Savior’s on December 28, 2020.

He was born September 20, 1945 in American Fork, Utah to Warren Williams and Norma Thompson. Larry married his sweetheart Sherrie Quilter on September 18, 1970 and they were sealed in the Manti Temple on August 14, 1973. He graduated from American Fork High School, where he holds the state record for the wooden pole vault. He was an all-around athlete participating in track and field, football and baseball. Larry served our country in the United States Army during Vietnam. Larry was employed by Geneva Steel for 37 years. He started in the Open Hearth as a laborer and retired as the maintenance manager. He was later trained in HVAC and was the head diagnostician before he retired.

He and his wife Sherrie loved their time as camp hosts at Timpanooneke for over 8 years. He enjoyed spending time outdoors fishing, hunting and camping. Larry served in many callings for the church. He was a great leader and adored the scouting program. During his scouting adventures, he was awarded the Silver Beaver. Serving others was his passion. During Larry’s time in the Bishopric, you could always count on seeing him helping someone in need. Larry was a patient man who loved unconditionally. He was a great example of a husband, father, grandpa, and friend. Larry is our hero!

Larry is survived by his wife, Sherrie Quilter, children Michelle (Darryl) Tonge, Scott (Sadie) Wake, Bryan (Dawnie) Williams, Shane (Holly) Williams, Heather (David) Blackhurst, Cody (Kim) Williams and Travis (Brooke) Williams, 23 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his father Warren, mother Norma, stepfather Darrell, brothers Reed, Howard, and Dave, and grandson Brandon.
