Leah Rae Davis Peterson, 83, of Anderson, California, passed away Wednesday, January 20, 2021.

Leah was born, August 3, 1937 in Vernal, Utah, the only girl of George and Ella Davis. She was raised in Vernal, Utah and graduated from Uintah High School in 1955. She attended one year at Brigham Young University before moving to California to join her family who had recently moved to Sacramento.

Leah was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  She was baptized at the age of eight in the Vernal tabernacle, which is now the Vernal Temple.  She served in many church callings throughout her adult years. Leah married Robert Peterson in the Salt Lake Temple June of 1957.  They had 5 children. They later divorced.  She worked 20 years as Chief Deputy Registrar for Stanislaus County in Modesto, CA, before quitting to help raise her grandchildren. While she was still working, she cared for her elderly father, and later her seriously ill daughter, Kathy.

Leah is survived by her son Brent Peterson; and her daughters Deborah Salsi (Parry); Kimberly Sicotte (Dave); and Amber Becker (Chris).  Also surviving are 18 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and her brothers, Wayne Davis, Max Davis, and Mark Davis.  She is preceded in death by her mother and father, her brother Kent Davis and her daughter Kathleen Hellberg.

There will be a viewing on Friday, February 19, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Warenski Funeral Home, 1776 North 900 East, American Fork. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 20, at 11:00 am at the American Fork 30th Ward Chapel, 270 North 900 East, American Fork. The service will be webcast live at https://zoom.us/j/95149349850. Interment will be Monday, February 22, at Maeser Fairview Cemetery 400 South 3500 West in Vernal, Utah.
