Our loving Daughter, Mother and Sister, Wendy, returned to her Heavenly Father on May 27th, 2021 after a long battle with breast cancer. She will be loved, missed, and forever remembered.

Wendy was born on July 6th, 1958 to Wayne and Gayle Hodson in Murray, Utah. She grew up in Cottonwood Heights and graduated from Brighton High School in 1977. She lived in various places in Utah throughout her life and lived in Cedar Hills for over 23 years.

She was a dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She had a close relationship with Jesus Christ. She loved studying her scriptures and would always read them in bed before falling asleep. Wendy loved hymns and would oftentimes sit and read the lyrics at church to better understand the meaning of the words. You would also find her listening to The Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square on CDs in the house and while driving in the car. She loved people, and going to church was one of her greatest joys. Wendy had many hard trials in life that tested her faith, but she was never shaken. She was a great listener and peacemaker. She was very kind, loving, patient, understanding, and forgiving.

Wendy loved lilac flowers, deer, and her cats. She loved her birthstone (ruby) and wearing heart necklaces. She was good at drawing, enjoyed painting ceramics, sewing, crochet, knitting, cross stitching, and reading mystery books. She was a very sentimental person and loved giving and receiving cards and letters, and always kept the ones she received. Her favorite season was the fall and she would always look forward to seeing the mountains and trees change colors. She loved the holidays, especially Halloween and Christmas, and would always decorate the house for each holiday. She would make Halloween costumes and clothes for her children as they grew up.

Wendy’s children were her greatest joy in life. She was a very hard worker and worked at various jobs throughout the years to help provide for her family. Even with all of that hard work, she always made it a priority to have family dinner every night in order to spend quality time together. When she cooked or cleaned, she sang, and danced to Phil Collins, Journey, and a variety of rock-and-roll music. She loved candles and would always have a candle lit at the table while her family ate dinner together.

Wendy is preceded in death by her baby brother Randy. She is survived by her children; Jessica, Jeff (Katie), Katie (Mark), and Tyler, 5 (soon to be 6) Grandchildren, her parents; Wayne and Gayle Hodson, and her siblings; Elden (Jan), Sandra (Rafael), Linda (Dan) and Andy (Susan).
