Nick, a loving husband, father, son, brother, nephew, uncle, and grandfather, was born on December 12, 1959 and left the world too soon on August 8, 2021 due to complications from a brain aneurysm. Nick is survived by his wife Corilyn Markham; children Melissa Swaugger-Markham, Candice Bischoff (Jeff), Josh Markham, Jason Markham (Sara), Kirk Markham and Trevor Tolbert (Torie); and his 13 grandchildren. He is further survived by his siblings Debbie Nelson (Jerry), Mike Greene (Terry), Jake Greene (Heather), Stacy Belgard (Kevin), Michael Perkins (Jennifer), Matthew Park (Nikki), Jenn Wilkens, mother- and father-in-law Tom and Marilyn Nixon; in-laws Melissa Knotts (Gradon), Gordon Nixon (Kim), Rynn Nixon (Tanna), Gary Nixon (Mickie), Shanae Leavitt (Kahle); and many nieces and nephews who adored him. He was preceded in death by his “angel boy” Tyler Tolbert and his mother Sharon Karr.

Always the first to step up and help someone in need, Nick never met a stranger, just new friends. He truly was a giver of his time and talents. At just 20 years old, Nick started his own landscaping company and worked incredibly hard to grow it. Nick had a passion for cooking and was always eager to let everyone try his latest creations. He had a love for everything outdoors like landscaping, enjoying time at the lake, and biking in the Alpine mountains above his home. He loved spending time with his kids, wakeboarding, surfing, snowboarding, snowmobiling, riding motorcycles at night, visiting the shooting range, four-wheeling at the dunes and many other recreational activities. Above all, he loved his family and showed it by the way he lived and loved. On October 26, 2007, he married the love of his life, Corilyn and together they traveled abroad and explored new places in their Razor. Nick’s greatest joy was spending time with family. He especially loved his time with each child and grandchild and was delighted to do fun things with them. In addition to family, Nick’s prized possession was his testimony of Jesus Christ. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many positions in the church during his life, impacting the lives of countless young men through the scouting and Young Men’s Organization. Every day, Nick would spend hours studying the scriptures. He was a man of God and an amazing example of someone who showed Christ like love.
