Deri Beck Davies

Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and daughter Deri Beck Davies passed from our view Monday, August 23, 2021.  She left us unexpectedly in the early morning hours holding her sweetheart’s hand.

Deri was born on a snowy December 27, 1954 in Provo, Utah to two amazing people, Leland Ross and Vera Joanne Carlisle Beck.  She enjoyed their full attention for several years before her brother, Dana joined the family. 

Deri married her eternal companion Wayne Lewis Davies on February 9, 1974 in the Provo Utah LDS Temple.  They spent 47 short years at each other’s side.  Four children blessed their lives.  Family was her pride and joy. 

Early on, Deri developed a love for music and learned to play the piano and the flute.  She has served as Primary President, Primary pianist, and accompanist for multiple ward choirs.  She also played the piano for the Alpine Community Choir for several years.  She accompanied numerous individuals and small groups throughout her life.  

For three years, Deri and Wayne had the privilege to serve as Service Missionaries at the River Meadows Assisted Living Center in Alpine, UT.  She served as the pianist and Relief Society teacher.  Her love for the residents and staff was immeasurable.

For the last three years she and Wayne made their home in Star Valley, Wyoming.  She loved sitting on the front porch looking at the mountains.   Taking a drive around the valley and watching the wildlife were some of her favorite pastimes, as long as she was with her “favorite” sweetheart. 

She is survived by her loving husband, Wayne, and children, Ember (Samuel) Ash, Marinda Davies Elkins, Aric Wayne (Natalie), and Auston Lewis (Brooke).  Also, her father, Ross, her brother, Dana (Annalisa) Beck, eleven grandchildren, three step grandchildren, one great-grandson, and one great-grand on the way.  She was preceded in death by her mother, Joanne, and numerous beloved family members.

A viewing will be held at the Warenski Funeral home at 1776 North 900 East, Highland, Utah, on Friday, August 27, 2021 from 6:00 – 8:00pm.  Funeral services will be at the “Red Brick Church” located at 165 North 100 East, Alpine, Utah at 11:00am on Saturday, August 28, 2021.  A viewing will be held at the church before the service from 9:30 – 10:30am.
