LaVon Romney Cardon
LaVon Romney Cardon, “Sunyboy”, “LR, age 81, formerly of El Paso, Texas passed away Saturday, September 4, 2021. He was born August 7, 1940 in El Paso to Lester LaVon Cardon and Elois Romney Cardon. He graduated from Burges High School in 1958 and served in the U.S. Navy as a Hospital Corpsman from 1958 to 1961. He served as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the West Central State Mission (Montana) from 1961 to 1963. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Brigham Young University in 1970. LR was a Chevron Gas Station Dealer in El Paso.
LaVon is survived by his children, Kassie Ann Allred, Ronald Jay Cardon, Randall Dean Cardon (Jill), and Philip Mark Cardon (Jasmine), and his adopted daughters, Sarah Melinda Booth, Meagan Alexandria Cardon, and Christian Taylor Cardon, as well as 11 beautiful grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Gerald Cardon. He is also survived by his siblings, Peggy Arlene Rhoton and Donna Jane Cardon.
Funeral services will be held Friday, September 10, 2021 at 11:00 am at the Alpine 12th Ward Chapel, 910 South High Bench Road, Alpine, Utah.
