Tim L Kay
1946 – 2022
Tim L Kay, loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away at his Cedar Hills home Friday, February 18th 2022. He was 76 years old.
Tim was born January 10th, 1946 in Driggs, Idaho to Merlin and Flossie Kay. He was the first of eight children. He graduated from Minico High School and went on to study at BYU. He served a mission in Austria for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Tim was a devout follower of Jesus Christ with a strong, unwavering testimony. Throughout his lifetime he served in many church callings which provided meaningful service to others.
As a modern man of industry, Tim’s vocations were broad; working as a rancher, local weather anchor, and restaurateur. In 1990 he established Papa Kelsey’s Pizza and Subs in Burley, Idaho. His professional passion was as a financial planner and insurance broker, primarily involving life annuities. Although he loved working, Tim’s role as husband and father was what he treasured most. His greatest pride was in the accomplishments of all his children.
He married Holley Williams on October 20, 1990 in the Provo, UT temple for time and all eternity. They enjoyed more than 31 years of marriage, and together raised five children. Tim’s kids were his first priority. He was actively involved in and supported everything they pursued
Tim is survived by his wife Holley, and children Rebecca, Matthew (Molly) Kay, Aaron (Audrey) Kay, Cheyenne (J.D.) Durrant, Timothy (Racheal) Kay, Duane Uses Arrow, 8 grandchildren, sisters Megan Payne, Sandie Warren, and brothers Sean Kay, Dane Kay, Stacey Kay.
He was preceded in death by his dear parents Merlin and Flossie and brothers Mitch and Robert Kay.
He will be remembered for his deep, abiding love for all things music, his inherent love of the mountains, especially the Tetons, and as a fiercely loyal protector with a strong will and tender heart.
Our fondest memory will forever be of our dad, standing on the front porch, waving goodbye until we were out of sight. Dad, you’ll never be out of our sight, or our hearts.
