Lynn Bullock

1950 – 2022

Steven Lynn Bullock, 72, passed away peacefully at his home in Highland, Utah, surrounded by family, after a 10-month battle with acute myeloid leukemia.

Lynn was born January 21, 1950, in Provo, Utah, to Harold and Lola Bullock.  Lynn grew up in Pleasant Grove, Utah spending many happy years there surrounded by loving family and friends.  The youngest of five children, Lynn loved spending time with his siblings, their families, and his close friends.  After graduating from Pleasant Grove High School, Lynn served a full-time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the England London South mission, where he learned to love the British Isles and the British people.  After his mission, Lynn dated and married the love of his life, Barbara Thomson.  They were sealed together in the Salt Lake Temple on August 30, 1972, and spent 50 happy years together.

Lynn graduated from Brigham Young University in 1975 and went to work in the paint industry.  Over the years, Lynn took on increasing leadership responsibilities within the Bennett Paint, Devoe, ICI, and PPG companies.  Lynn’s sales divisions were always at or near the top of the country in sales, and he received many leadership and sales awards throughout his career.  However, beyond all of the awards and recognition, he most loved working with his fellow employees and customers and being able to serve them.  An active person his entire life, Lynn enjoyed playing multiple sports in high school, being outdoors with his family, and going on long bike rides with his wife numerous times per week.

After his retirement in 2018, Lynn was able to return to the British Isles to serve as a full-time Pathway missionary with his beloved companion, Barbara.  During this full-time missionary service, Lynn and Barbara worked and served with hundreds of missionaries and helped to set up and develop the Pathway educational program in Great Britain.  They loved their time serving in England and adored the people they served with from all over the world.  They especially cherished serving with their beloved mission president and companion, President and Sister Checketts, along with the other couple missionaries who are now dear friends.  Lynn and Barbara also served as church service missionaries on the Pathway training team, training other missionaries from 2019 to 2021.

As an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints throughout his life, Lynn served faithfully in every responsibility he was called to serve.  In particular, Lynn found great joy in serving as a bishop, in the stake presidency, as a Pathway missionary, in an MTC branch presidency, and as a ministering brother.  These callings had special meaning to him because he said he loved being involved in people’s lives, getting to know them and their challenges, and trying to help serve them in the Savior’s way.

Lynn is survived by the love of his life, Barbara Bullock, and by his four children, Nathan (Amy) Bullock, Ann (Mike) Ericksen, Marisa (Bret) Fitzgerald, and Brandon (Lindsey) Bullock, and his eighteen delightful grandchildren.  He is also survived by his brother Brent (Connie) Bullock and his many wonderful nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Lola Bullock, his sisters Georgia Schaefer and Joyce Loveland, and his brother Harold R Bullock.

Funeral services for Lynn will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at 11:00 am in the Highland 24th Ward Chapel located at 5212 West Country Club Drive, Highland, Utah 84003. Family and friends may call on Friday evening from 6:00-8:00 pm at the Warenski Funeral Home, 1776 North 900 East, American Fork, Utah 84003 and also at an additional viewing on Saturday morning from 9:30-10:30 am prior to services at the church. Interment will follow in the Highland City Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the dedicated doctors, nurses, physician assistants, hospice workers, friends, ward, and family members who helped Lynn, Barbara, and their family through the past ten months.  They have all been merciful angels and lifted the family up during this challenging time.
