Gary Bruce Anderson
Gary Bruce Anderson
1950 – 2022
Gary Bruce Anderson, born February 26, 1950, died on November 30, 2022 at the tender age of 72. He was preceded in death by his parents Bruce Anderson and Stella Leavitt, as well as his sisters Susan and Nancy. Surviving Gary are his widow, Janette Anderson (nee Jorgensen), his son Seth Anderson (Anna), his daughter Sara Noonan (Sean), brother Brent Anderson, sister Karen Stephens (Craig), numerous cousins and nieces/nephews, and two grandsons, Kenneth Gary Anderson and Peter Frank Anderson (and Sara’s dog Miss Pickles).
Gary was lucky enough to find and marry the love of his life at the age of 19. His wife, Janette, was a consistent source of encouragement and domestic excellence, and together they spent over 52 years in wedded bliss. Together, they were devout members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Gary and Janette were sealed for eternity in the Los Angeles Temple. He was a Bishop in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Marysville, Washington, and held other important positions within the church throughout his life.
He graduated from BYU in 1974 with a degree in Business Finance. He was a consummate salesperson and never met a stranger. Gary was a wonderful public speaker and teacher and improved many lives with his kindness, wisdom, and fellowship.
Gary, at 5’11”, was a shockingly fantastic point guard, and passed on a love of sports (or at least sports spectatorship) to his daughter. According to the legend, Gary once shot 100 successful free throws in a row.
We would like to leave you with the best joke he ever told:
Gary: Man, I can’t wait until tomorrow.
Anybody: Why?
Gary: Because I get better looking every day.
Gary died a legendary Father, Husband, and person, as well as a very handsome man. Godspeed.
Funeral services for Gary will be held on Thursday, December 8, 2022 at 11:00 am in the Cedar Hills 4th Ward Chapel, located at 4580 West Cedar Hills Drive, Cedar Hills, Utah. There will be no viewing prior to services.
