Roselee Marshall Seay
Roselee Marshall Seay
1941 – 2023
Roselee Marshall Seay (82) passed away at Mountain Point Medical Center on Saturday, January 14, 2023.
She was born Roselee Pearl Marshall to her parents Dora Chadwick Marshall and Cecil Clyde Marshall on January 12th, 1941 in Saline, Michigan. They had chosen the name Roselee by combining the names of her maternal grandparents Rose and Lee Marshall. She was the oldest of two children which included her younger sister, Cathy Shearin Coughlin.
She attended Highland Park Community High School where she joined choir, acted in plays, and played the saxophone in the marching band. After graduating high school in 1958, she went on to study business at East Tennessee University. While attending college she became a member of the Delta Zeta Sorority and proceeded to graduate in 1960 with an Associate’s Degree in Business. She was smart as a whip and an incredibly hardworking student which continued throughout her life. On November 29th 1965, she became a mother to her only child, her daughter, Karen Rose McNew. Together they lived in Tennessee for 13 years before moving to Georgia in 1978. There she met David Norman Seay in Savannah, Georgia where they fell madly in love and we’re later married June 25th, 1983 in Ridgeland, South Carolina. They then moved to their first home in Highland Park, Michigan in 1985. Here Roselee began her career as an Executive Assistant for Ford Motor Company. After she and her husband retired in 2003, they decided to settle in Florida where they relaxed and threw amazing parties. They stayed until David’s peaceful passing in 2006. They were married for 21 blissful years. Roselee moved one last time to be with her daughter and grandchildren in American Fork, Utah.
Roselee was known for her intelligence, tenacity, quick wit, and her humor with one liners that would immediately fill the room with laughter. Roselee was incredibly talented in many areas of her life. She played the piano, an incredible cook, exceptional gardener, and a gifted singer. In fact, her voice was so wonderful she was a member of a band named, “The Charmelles” in 1961. Roselee had a deep passion for gardening and sought to maintain an immaculate yard which she certainly did without question. She enjoyed immersing herself in a good book, with a cat purring in her lap, and cookies on the nightstand. She loved her crime shows, peanuts, a foot long chili dog with an unsweetened iced tea, adored her kitties, but there is nothing she loved more than her family. There has never been a more loving, supportive, and devoted daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, cousin, and friend. Those who were fortunate enough to know her knows how much she will be forever missed and remembered as a truly remarkable person.
Roselee is preceded in death by her parents, Dora Chadwick Marshall and Cecil Clyde Marshall; her sister, Cathy Shearin Coughlin; her husband, David Norman Seay; and her grandson, Brett David Webster.
Roselee is survived by her daughter, Karen Rose McNew; her granddaughters, Mallory Lillian Rose Ostler (Casey) and Sarah Webster England (Garrett); her great grandchildren, (Kiley) Graiden David Webster, Scottlin Iris Webster, Eddavein Olive Webster, and Timber Caroline Rose Ostler.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Carol Gourlay, Mary Shearin Atkins, Gary and Joann Scott, Shawn Warenski and Warenski Funeral Home.
