Dewey Dean Howard

Dewey Dean Howard passed away on November 21, 2023. He was born on May 7, 1933, to Dewey Eugene Howard and Stella Ann Brown in Titus County, Texas. Dean was the cherished youngest child and only son of four children. His miraculous entry into the world, born two months premature and weighing just three pounds, set the stage for a life of overcoming odds and embracing challenges.

Dean’s early years were spent in the rustic beauty of East Texas. His journey through life took him across the United States, where he left a mark in various endeavors. From selling Bibles and vacuums to airplanes and real estate, Dean embodied a spirit of enthusiasm and relentless energy. His integrity shone through in his roles as a Realtor in Montana, and an insurance agent in Utah. His success stemmed from a foundation of honesty and truthfulness in all his business dealings.

But Dean’s true passion lay in his love for family, faith, and country. He was a man of unwavering generosity, kindness, and selflessness. An avid handyman, Dean took immense pride in his woodworking, often spending hours in his beloved shop. His craftsmanship was a testament to his attention to detail and dedication to excellence.

Dean’s commitment to service extended beyond his personal pursuits. He was a devoted member of his church, serving with honor and striving to lead a life that reflected his deep faith. He often said, “Let my light shine so that it will give glory and honor to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.” This philosophy was the cornerstone of his life, guiding his actions and inspiring those around him.

Dean’s legacy lives on through his children: Emily (Milan), Briant (Chante’), Alison (Brian), and Jennifer (Colby), and his step-children Lisa, Kristin, Sheila, Joanna, Amy. Other children Nathan, Trivia, Gina, Licia, Robin, Jason, Dawn, Sterling, and Velvet. He joins in eternal rest his beloved wife of 41 years, Cheryl Ann, his parents and his three sisters, Cleo, Chris, and Petie (Matilda).

Dewey Dean Howard’s life was a journey of perseverance, love, and unwavering faith. His memory will forever be a source of inspiration and comfort to all who knew him.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 1, 2023 at 11:00 am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints building, located on 10350 North Bayhill Drive, Cedar Hills, Utah. Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation from 9:30-10:30 am prior to services at the church. Interment will follow services at the Lehi Cemetery.
