Linda Money Christensen
1950 ~ 2024
Our beautiful wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Linda Money Christensen passed away peacefully at home on May 6, 2024, following a courageous battle with cancer. Linda was born August 8, 1950, in Payson, Utah to George Albert and Shirle Rae (Stoney) Money. She spent her formative years on a farm in Palmyra, Utah, where she developed a love for animals and learned the realities of farm life such as the laborious task of thinning sugar beets. At a young age, Linda adored getting lost in books for hours, igniting a life-long love for learning, as manifested in her extensive vocabulary and perfect penmanship.
After graduating from Spanish Fork High School in 1968, Linda pursued her passion for education, attending Brigham Young University and earning her degree in elementary education in 1972. While at BYU, she participated in Angel Flight, an ROTC service club, where she created wonderful friendships and memories. She began her teaching career at Springville Middle School, where she shared her love of learning with her sixth-grade students for two years before dedicating herself to the role of homemaker.
On June 21, 1974, Linda married her sweetheart Todd Guymon Christensen, in the Provo Temple. Although they never officially dated before Todd left on his mission in 1971, they had formed a special friendship prior to him leaving. Upon his return, they went to the airport together to welcome home a mutual friend returning from a mission. Although Linda and Todd had both agreed to go as just friends, while walking through the airport their hands naturally came together and their love story began. Just six weeks later, they became verbally engaged, embarking on a journey of love and companionship that would span the rest of their lives together.
Linda and Todd built a home filled with faith, love, and laughter on Grandview Hill in Provo, Utah, where they raised their 4 children and lived for 37 years. They then moved to Highland, Utah, in 2013 where they continued to create countless treasured memories with their family. Linda’s love knew no bounds, especially when it came to her family. Linda cherished her role as “Nana” and took immense joy in spoiling her 14 grandchildren, making each one feel like her favorite. She sought every opportunity to spend time with them and loved attending all their games, concerts, and recitals.
Linda was a devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. A woman of unwavering faith, Linda had a deeply personal relationship with Jesus Christ, which served as the foundation of her life. Her natural leadership abilities, coupled with her exceptional organizational skills, led to many leadership roles, where she touched countless lives with her genuine love and kindness. Linda’s passion for family history also blessed the lives of many, both in this life and beyond the veil.
Linda was a talented pianist, making her one of the most sought-after accompanists in the community. Her love for music brought joy to all who had the pleasure of hearing her play.
Linda will be remembered for her unmatched energy, her infectious laughter, and her ability to make friends wherever she went. She approached life with determination and grace, always seeing the potential in others and treating them with kindness and respect. She radiated light and joy, leaving a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Linda is survived by her loving husband, Todd; their four children: Melissa (RobRoy) Platt, Heather (Landon) Bye, Chad (Marisa) Christensen, and Brandon (Mandy) Christensen; 14 adoring grandchildren who were the light of her life; and her siblings Bryan (Kay) Money, Diana (Stacy) Money Childs, and Kurt (Sherry) Money. She was preceded in death by her sister Jana Rae Money and her parents.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Linda’s oncologists, Dr. Gregory Chipman and Dr. Christian Barney, and their dedicated staff for their devoted care and compassion throughout her illness.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 18, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. in the Day Meadow Chapel, located at 6050 West Chapel Drive, Highland, Utah.
