Ralph O. Holding, Jr.

March 8, 1966 ~ May 16, 2024

Ralph O Holding Jr., our son, brother, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend peacefully passed on May 16, 2024.  He died of causes incident to CADASIL, a genetic disease he had since birth. He was living at the Welcome Home Assisted Living Facility in Pleasant Grove, UT.

The third child of Ralph and Renee Holding, Ralph was born on March 8, 1966 in Santa Clara, CA Kaiser hospital.  His parents were living on Glidden Way in Fremont, CA and both taught school for the Fremont Unified School District. Ralph has remained close to his Fremont Friends throughout his life.

Ralph attended Maloney Elementary School and also Glenmoor Elementary when he qualified for the Gifted and Talented Program. (GATE)

In his youth, Ralph played baseball and football and earned his Eagle Scout award from BSA.  He played four years of varsity baseball at Washington High School and he selected to attend Brigham Young University as a Cougar under Coach Gary Pullins in 1984-85.

Ralph was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of LDS.  He served an LDS Mission to Paris, France. He caringly served in numerous callings as well as serving as a temple worker in the Mt. Timpanogos Temple baptistry.

Ralph is survived by his mother, Betty Renee Holding and his three sister’s families: Tina R. Holding of Irvine, CA, Shari and Thomas Beck of Pleasant Grove, UT and Lori and Trent Holgate of South Jordan, UT.

Ralph is also survived by his four children: Ralph Oscar and (Kaity) Holding, III.  Kimberli Lynn and (Dustin) Leavitt, Ryan Seth Holding and Craig Russell Holding. Ralph has one grandson, Beckham Blaze Leavitt.

Ralph was married in the Oakland LDS Temple to his former spouse, Jessica Wehrly in 1991. They were married for 21 years and had 4 children. Ralph’s pride and joy was his children. He was overjoyed to watch Kimi perform as Clara in the Nutcracker ballet or when Ralph, Ryan or Craig would get a base hit or score a touchdown. He enjoyed the many years he coached his sons and their friends on the ball field.  Ralph also loved to golf and enjoyed his competitive days on the golf course at tournaments such as the Libby Classic.

He spent most of his working life as a Marketing Executive for Westpro in Provo, Utah. He also worked at the Food & Care Coalition and his final work was to be a greeter at Walmart when the CADASIL disease had progressed his disability.

Ralph was a cheerful, loving man through his steady health decline.  All who took care of him at Welcome Home Assisted Living loved Ralph and his warm and friendly countenance.

Ralph was preceded in death by his father, Ralph O. Holding, Sr. He will be laid to rest next to his father at the Highland City Cemetery following the services.

Funeral services for Ralph will be held Thursday, May 30, 2024 at 11:00 am at the Garden Stake Center Chapel, located at 1028 West 1000 North, Pleasant Grove, UT. Family and friends are invited to attend visitations on Wednesday evening from 6:00-8:00 pm at the Garden Stake Center and also on Thursday morning from 9:30-10:30 am prior to services at the church.
