Renee Sharon Barrett was born October 16, 1946 to Iris M. Jarrett and Robert H. Barrett. She was their first born and had a twin brother Ray Sheldon born five minutes after she was. Her childhood years were spent in Las Vegas, Nevada close to grandparents and other relatives. She had three brothers Ray, Doug, and Kurt and one sister Bobette.
She attended Sunrise Acres Elementary School, Roy Martin Junior High School, Las Vegas and Rancho High Schools graduating in 1964. She attended Brigham Young University and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education in 1970.
She married Terrance Harper in 1968. They had five children Kristen, Jessie, Justin, Danny and Davey. They were later divorced.
Renee worked at Signetics, the State Training School, and in 1980 began her teaching career with Alpine School District. She taught Kindergarten for 19 years, First Grade for 5 years and enjoyed meeting former students.
Renee was active in her church and held many different positions that helped her grow in the gospel.
She had a love for her family and her heritage and spent many hours doing family history and genealogy work. She had a strong testimony of the gospel and of the eternal nature of the family. She often mentioned how she looked forward to meeting her ancestors. She resided in Highland, American Fork, Lehi, and Eagle Mountain.
Renee graduated from ‘Earth School’ February 3rd surrounded by family and loved ones.
Funeral services for Renee will be held on Tuesday, February 11, 2025 at 11:00 am in the Highland 33rd Ward Chapel, located at 6722 West 10400 North, Highland, Utah. Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Tuesday, morning from 9:30-10:30 am prior to services at the church. Interment will follow services at the Lehi City Cemetery.
