Lincoln Evans
1997 ~ 2024
Lincoln Evans passed away peacefully on the evening of February 12, 2024 after a weekend struggle with an infection.
All who know Lincoln knew of his patience, kindness, gentle sense of humor, and infectious laugh. He loved everybody. He leaves behind a devoted family: his parents, Dave and Becky; his older brother Sam along with Sam’s wife Miranda and their four children, Atticus, Dieter, Echo, and Jennifer Jean; his younger sister Julia; his younger brother Isaac; cherished grandparents; adoring aunts, uncles, cousins; and dear friends. He is profoundly missed.
Lincoln David Evans was born April 27, 1997 in Holladay, Utah. Lincoln lived in Taylorsville, Murray, and American Fork, Utah. He graduated from Murray High School in 2016. At the time of his passing, he worked in IT for Mity-Lite in Orem, Utah and was finishing a Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems from Utah Valley University, specializing in Cybersecurity.
Lincoln was a man who had developed great faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Everyone who knew him knew that the Savior Jesus Christ and His gospel were the centerpiece of his life. He was notably devoted to his callings in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints – always truly magnifying his callings as Elders’ Quorum Secretary, Ward Clerk, Executive Secretary and Sunday School President. He received his Endowment in the Mount Timpanogos Temple in December 2020, and he loved attending every chance he could get. He loved to sing, solos and in choirs, and played piano by ear. One of his favorite songs was “I Hope They Call Me on a Mission”. It was his strong desire to serve a full-time mission for the Church. He was honorably excused by the Missionary Department in September 2023 for medical reasons.
Starting in his childhood, he grappled with many medical issues. He had open-heart surgery as a three-year-old and experienced other challenges as a child. We had many moments where we thought we would lose him, but he always proved to be resilient. With each medical challenge throughout his life, he seemed to become more sweet and compassionate. He valiantly fought his most recent medical fight with strong faith in his Savior. He defied all odds when he held on to life much longer than expected. Eventually yielding to the will of the Lord, his family was with him as his spirit passed from mortality to the next life at Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, Utah. In a final act of charity, he donated both kidneys to needy recipients.
