Jeffrey Allen Davis

1961 ~ 2024

Jeffrey Allen Davis, born on February 2, 1961, in Beech Grove, Indiana, to Juanita and Edward Davis, lived a life filled with passion, adventure, and service. Jeff married Jody Simons in 1987, and together they had two daughters before later parting ways. He eventually moved to Utah, where he began his remarkable journey with AmeriCorps VISTA. After completing a year-long project, he transitioned to a career as a recruiter for Stevens-Henager College.

Jeff found his true calling in education. He started as a teacher—a role he cherished deeply—and eventually became Campus Dean. His commitment to innovation led him to spearhead the college’s online program, a milestone project during his 16-year tenure. After leaving Stevens-Henager, Jeff returned to AmeriCorps VISTA, serving communities in Alaska, Colorado, and Wyoming with his characteristic dedication and heart.

Jeff’s life was defined by his love of helping others succeed. He had a gift for raising spirits, empowering those around him, and spreading positivity wherever he went. An adventurous soul, he excelled at everything he tried—wrestling, tennis, chess, and even poker, where he proudly claimed the title of the family’s champion. A lifelong Chicago Bears fan, Jeff never missed an opportunity to cheer for his team.

With a sharp wit and an ever-ready joke, Jeff brightened the lives of everyone he encountered. Known for his humor, he’d probably laugh at this line suggesting he started every day with a 5 a.m. jog and a smile—while showing off a six-pack! In truth, Jeff embraced life with an unmatched enthusiasm, and his positivity left a lasting mark on everyone he met.

Jeff deeply loved his family and was devoted to all of them. He is preceded in death by his mother, Juanita Davis, and his nephew, Joshua Davis. He is survived by his beloved daughters, Jessica and Jorie Davis; his father, Edward Davis; his brothers, Chris (Liz) Davis and Randall (Shirley) Davis; as well as his nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and countless friends.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to NeuroRestorative for their compassionate care over the years and to the University of Utah for their exceptional medical support. Jeff will be remembered as a man who loved fiercely, lived boldly, and inspired everyone he met to find joy and purpose in life.

Rest in peace, Jeff. Your light will shine forever in our hearts.
