Woody “Harland Woodruff” Larson, passed away peacefully on December 7th, 2021 at the age of 80 in his home in Highland, Utah due to complications of Parkinson’s Disease.

He was born in Murray, Utah on May 25th, 1941.  He was born to Harland and Etta Woodruff Larson.  Woody was the youngest of their three children.  He spent his childhood on his horse Goldie whom he considered his best friend. 

He married the love of his life, Shauna Holt 46 years ago in the Salt Lake City Temple.  They had a deep and lasting love with neither of them ever wanting to be far from the other.  They shared 7 children and enjoyed their 28 grandchildren as well as 12 great grandchildren. 

Woody has many talents and interests including gardening, photography, and temple work.  He loved the springtime and hanging up his bird feeders.  One of his favorite past times was watching the hummingbirds with his granddaughter. 

He served his country in the National Guard for the Engineers Battalion and then served the Lord by serving a mission at the Family History Library at BYU from March 2011 to March 2013.  He loved doing temple work and genealogy.  He was grateful for his ancestors and enjoyed researching and sharing their stories.  He was responsible for completing the work for 13,000 temple baptisms and confirmations, as well as hundreds of others for their endowments and sealings to be completed.  He truly made temple work his life’s mission in his later years.

He was preceded in death by his parents Harland and Etta Larson, his sister Jeannine Pedroza and his brother-in-law’s Steven Pedroza and Lynn Zabriskie. 

He is survived by his beloved wife Shauna, his Children: Brad (Lauralee), Ric (Jill), Amy (David), Paula, Matt, Brandon (Nic), and Rachel (Jared), his sister Jeanette Zabriskie and his 28 grandchildren and 12 greatgrandchildren.

A viewing will be held on Sunday December 12th, 2021 from 6:00pm-8:00pm at the Highland Stake Center: 5335 West 11200 North, Highland, Utah 84003.

The funeral will be held the following day Monday December 13th, 2021 at 11:00am also at the Highland Stake Center:  5335 West 11200 North, Highland, Utah 84003. A short viewing will also be held on this morning before the funeral for any additional guests from 9:30am -10:30am. Woody will be laid to rest in the Highland City Cemetery following the services.

    I am deeply saddened by the passing of “Woody”. My prayers and condolences go out to you Shauna and to your family. I know he has had a rough time these last couple of months and years. However, he will be missed but always will be in your hearts. You have a great family and I am so happy to have known you.
