Albert Karl Carter

1942 – 2022

Our loving husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, great grandfather and friend, passed away on November 10, 2022 at the age of 80.

Karl was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Leona Carter, Sister, Barbara Allen and daughter Sharleen Hendrickson.

Born to the loving family of Albert and Leona Carter. Karl had a close relationship with his parents and 5 sisters, laughing and singing together often.

Karl joined the Air Force and soon married his best friend, Sherry (Campbell) Raising 5 children Thad (Ann Marie) Steven (Katie) Shaunee (Sterling) Shareen (Brett) Sharleen (Vaughn)

Every 4 years saying, “Sherry we need a new baby around here,” Karl loved babies so much. Karl and Sherry enjoyed 61 years of marriage

Karl served faithfully in all of his callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Serving in many Capacities, in bishoprics and primary. His favorite was teaching the Primary children and listening to their beautiful voices as they sang.

Karl loved the Savior and the gospel with all of his heart & spent countless hours studying the scriptures and serving others.

Karl and Sherry had many people live with them throughout the years. Those that were in need of a helping hand. One person, or a whole family, it didn’t matter. They were there to help, expecting nothing in return.

In his later years, as his Alzheimer’s worsened, Karl took great joy in being outside, speaking to the children and parents as they walked by, waving at all of his “Friends” as they drove by.  Many kindly honked and waved back. Honking even if he wasn’t outside. It made his day. Karl was loved by many and will be truly missed. Until we meet again.

Carl is my first cousin. I didn’t know many Carters but Carl stood out. I’m glad when I was younger that I was able to spend time with Ab and Leona’s children. I could never forget them. I’m sure Carl is elated to see his family in heaven again.

Karl was one of the good ones! We worked together at Maceys and I always called him my friend. We will all miss him.

I had the pleasure to have Karl as my Supervisor at Southern California Edison. He was kind hearted and always fair. I didn’t know him well but he always had my respect. Sending prayers to his family.

I hadn’t seen Karl outside in a while, so I googled his name and I am heartbroken to hear this news. I didn’t know him well at all, but we spoke a few times and I always waved to him as I was passing by. A few months ago he walked a bit too far from his house, and knowing nothing but his happy spirit, I pulled over, got him in my car, and took him back home. He was so appreciative and kind. I don’t know anyone in the neighborhood, but I would always joke that he was my one and only friend.
I am so sorry to his family. Sending all my positive thoughts your way. ❤️
